PROCESS SAFETY & RISK ENGINEER/CONSULTANT

The Process Safety & Risk Engineer role is an engineering position supporting multiple manufacturing sites in process safety of existing facilities and the safe design of new projects. The Process Safety & Risk Engineer provides in depth technical leadership and support to refining / petrochemical and industrial processing facilities with a focus on hazard identification, risk assessment and providing cost effective risk management solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Support development and implementation of PSM and Risk Management programs for select domestic and international clientele.
  • Assist in development of PSM related policies and procedures.
  • Participate or conduct engineering and compliance audits to ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulations.
  • Facilitate or participate in Process Hazard Analyses and revalidations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of client specific safety related policies and procedures.
  • Analyze client contractor safety performance information for contractor validation and approval.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines.
Qualifications 

Bachelors’ degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering preferred. Minimum two years experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or other heavy processing industry required. Practical knowledge of OSHA PHA and EPA RMP regulations desired. Knowledge of process safety design and engineering practices and relevant industry codes and standards. (API, NFPA, EN, etc.)

This position does require 25 – 75% travel. Candidate must have ability to manage multiple projects involving consultants or cross organizational teams.

MECHANICAL INTEGRITY/RELIABILITY ENGINEER

The Mechanical Integrity/Reliability Engineer assists clients in the development and maintenance of OSHA PSM/EPA RMP required Mechanical Integrity programs. This position requires a firm understanding of asset reliability, risk based inspections, and practical knowledge of industry best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Support development and implementation of Mechanical Integrity Programs in accordance with best practices and industry codes and regulations.
  • Assist in development of maintenance programs and procedures for fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Assist clients in ensuring asset and production targets are met by effective preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Improve client maintenance strategies based on reliability and risk analyses.
  • Provide reliability expertise in new client projects.
  • Update clients on industry news related to inspection techniques or regulatory changes.
  • Interact regularly with clients to troubleshoot Mechanical Integrity related problems and provide sound advice.
Qualifications

Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical engineering preferred or maintenance background. Minimum two years experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or other heavy processing industry required. Practical knowledge of corrosion, risk based inspection techniques, and various industry codes. API certification is desired.

SAFETY SPECIALIST

The Safety Specialist assists clients in the development, implementation, and training of OSHA required facility safety programs. This position requires a firm understanding OSHA 1910 regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Support development and implementation of site specific safety policies and procedures for clients.
  • Provide onsite training and training programs for client’s personnel.
  • Manage contractor pre-qualification programs and tracking systems for clients.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with client’s operational staff and facility EHS professionals to ensure that project execution and safety plans are in compliance with facility plans.
  • Provide assistance and guidance on incident investigation techniques for clients.
  • Develop facility specific Emergency Response Plans for clients.
  • Maintain database of best practices, recent OSHA citations, and changes to regulatory programs.
Qualifications

Bachelors’ degree in safety or related field preferred. Minimum three years of directly related experience. Experience in developing and performing field audits. Safety Professional Certification desired – CSA, CSM, or related certification. This position does require up to 25 – 50% travel. Candidate must have ability to manage multiple projects involving consultants or cross organizational teams.
